Following the recent announcement from the Prime Minister on Monday the government has been lobbied by a number of companies and business groups involved with carrying out statutory examinations in an effort to confirm that Engineer Surveyors can travel as part of their job function.

Advice has now been issued by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).  This means, for the purposes of carrying out statutory inspection and examination functions for critical industries or those within the supply chain, Engineer Surveyors can be classified as ‘key workers’.

We will continue to operate our scheduled examination activities where required by our clients, with a priority for critical industries.

This is a constantly changing situation and we will continue to monitor and communicate current advice as and when any further changes occur.
